these rules may be new?

http://www.facebook.com/help.php?page=721
"business accounts do not have the same functionality as personal accounts. Business accounts have limited access to information on the site. An individual with a business account can view all the Pages and Social Ads that they have created, however they will not be able to view the profiles of users on the site or other content on the site that does not live on the Pages they administer. In addition,

business accounts cannot be found in search and cannot send or receive friend requests."

Your advice seems really good, none of us understands facebook well enough to jump right in, but I'm really confused about the rules as they post them ... additionally

"Maintaining multiple accounts, regardless of the purpose, is a violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use. If you already have a personal account, then we cannot allow you to create business accounts for any reason. You can manage all the Pages and Socials Ads that you create on your personal account."

I guess we need a personal account first?

I have been fascinated by Facebook and done quite a lot of work with my two companies to build our brands using Facebook. I have a couple of people helping with marketing, and unfortunately, one of them decided to do a bit of spring cleaning on his "Page adn Ads admin" and deleted our Facebook page.. and just like that - two clicks and everything is gone forever... no back up, no recovery tool, no email confirming that you really wanted this, no email to the admin even telling that your page is gone, no "please enter password" - just "DELETE" and "are your sure DELETE".......... five emails to Facebook... no reply... no help and no recovery

With this in mind.. is Facebook more than a toy tool?...a social phenomenon marketing gimmick?
