However, it's a little long.  I'm seeing if O'Reilly will let me get away with it, but I may have to cut it down and streamline it a bit :-)</description>

		<description>Thanks for the review Dawn. What I find interesting are the companies who struggle to grasp the burst-style of work. To them it seems hip and cool and perhaps a way of spurring new growth into a lagging company. Alas, it seems that often they don't have the infrastructure, experience or mindset to take on the monumental task of shifting like that. It leaves a bad taste in their mouth and it often becomes harder to convince them of the benefits of a blend of burst and busy.

Thankfully as more and more companies do grasp it I find myself working in a much more natural rythym. Hell, I spent all day working on the Jive logo, took a break and killed some people at Call of Duty, went home and out of nowhere the problems melted away. I jumped on the computer and "got'r dun" as my grandpa would say.

I also think it takes the right sort of person to work well with the bursty method. A person needs to be able to handle an less structured environment, yet must also be able to focus when push comes to shove.</description>
